Public meeting over plans for 30 homes at Bells Hill, Mylor
Residents will have another chance to give their opinion about plans for an affordable housing development planned for Mylor.
Cornwall Council has organised a meeting for the central sub-area planning committee members, which will ultimately make the decision.

It will be held at the Tremayne Hall on Wednesday (January 23) at 6pm.
Two thirds of 30 homes planned at Bells Hill by Devon and Cornwall Housing Group would be affordable – a mix of shared ownership and rental – the remainder being open market.

Although outside the village boundary, the company considers it qualifies as an exception site.
Critics are concerned about the increase in traffic, lack of a footpath and the precedent it may set for more development - pre-application discussion has taken place with Blue Cedar Homes for 13 houses (to include two affordable) for older people off Cogos Park.
"If Bells Hill development is allowed we are opening the flood gates for other developers" says Jan Robson of the Mylor Conservation Group.
However many supporters want the homes so they can stay in the village, a message conveyed at a public meeting earlier this year. Cornwall Council has identified a need for more than 80 affordable homes in the parish.
The developer said the open market homes were needed to fund the scheme, with government subsidies no longer available. There would be a new access road onto Bells Hill and some road improvements as well as a footpath.
As a result of the high level of interest in the scheme, which has attracted more than 100 comments to the council, it was decided to hold the meeting.
Anyone who wishes to speak must register on arrival.
A spokesman for the council said: "The meeting is an opportunity for councillors to hear from local people on all sides of the debate and no decision will be taken on the day."

“One thing for certain the residents of Mylor will not want anyone local who grew up in Cornwall getting ban affordable home. It will lower the tone of the area I'm glad to say. Nothing to do with conservation and everything to do with keeping Mylor too expensive for anyone but the well heeled to live there - even if it is only for a few weeks a year.”
