South East Cornwall pupils find a new way to go at orienteering event
CHILDREN from primary schools across South East Cornwall took part in an orienteering event at Duchy College in Stoke Climsland last week.
The Year 5 and 6 students played problem-solving games, took part in an orienteering treasure hunt and completed orienteering training.

NEW SKILLS: The pupils taking part in the orienteering day.
After fine-tuning their newfound skills the children then competed in 2km orienteering challenges.
Peter Heywood, who is a member of the Cornwall Orienteering Club and was also an Olympic Torchbearer, has been working alongside Ryan Le-Doux-Lucas from Duchy College to organise the event to continue the Olympic Legacy and increase participation in sport. Ryan Le-Doux-Lucas, who is a sport lecturer at Duchy College, said: "This was an amazing day for everyone involved and we are looking forward to holding another event in 2014."
