ONE OF the stars of this Saturday's Rhythm and You festival at the Royal Cornwall Showground, Wadebridge, will undoubtedly be Polly Money.

The 14-year-old Falmouth musician has just released her debut single Falling. Her first album, recorded when she was only 13 will be released in August.

She will be one of the many performers at this weekend's festival, which will raise funds for Global Natural Healthcare Trust, a Truro-based charity run by St Austell's Annette Montague-Thomas, which helps children stricken with HIV/AIDS in South Africa.

Polly's album is a compilation of acoustic beats and charming melodies with a number of the tracks written by Polly herself.

She has also stamped her mark on a number of covers.

Polly has been surrounded by music from a very early age and appreciates music from a broad range of genres. She counts the Dixie Chicks, James Morrison and KT Tunstall among her favourites.

The album was recorded at Audiobase in Somerset and produced by Clive Radford and Ben Kench. Clive managed to pull together an experienced group of professional musicians to accompany Polly on the album.

These included Billy Fuller on bass, who has toured with Robert Plant of Led Zeppelin, and Andrew Tweener on drums, who toured with Seth Lakeman. Bill Mudge played keyboards with Clive and Ben supporting on various guitars.

Polly said: "I love writing and performing and have really enjoyed the experience of playing with professional musicians. I was nervous to begin with but soon relaxed as we all developed some of my songs. I hope people like the end result."

Clive said: "I heard Polly perform one of her original songs and was so enchanted by her that I asked her to join me in the studio. The album developed from there and it has been a real pleasure to work with someone so young yet so professional."
