Rain plays havoc with Premier fixtures
The incessant rain has already bitten into this weekend's Carlsberg South West Peninsula League Premier Division fixtures, with last night's scheduled encounter between Plymouth Parkway and Newquay called off early yesterday morning.
Cullompton Rangers' home game against Torpoint Athletic is certain not to go ahead, after secretary Marcus Scott circulated a photograph of the Speeds Meadow pitch, which is totally under water.

Rain plays havoc with Premier fixtures
Bodmin Town's midweek 4-0 victory at managerless Liskeard Athletic moved Darren Gilbert's reigning champions up to second place, two points adrift of leaders Launceston with four games in hand.
Victory was achieved without 13-goal striker Adam Carter and suspended midfielder Lee Doel, but diminutive striker Chris Luxton enhanced his growing reputation with a fine finish to take him to 17 for the season.

Ivybridge Town provide the opposition at Priory Park today and the Bridgers, under the guidance of Graeme Kirkup and Nicky Marker, have been enjoying one of their best campaigns for some time.
The Erme Valley outfit are seventh but have games in hand over all except Bodmin and Plymouth Parkway.
Striker Joe Truelove, who scored twice in the 4-2 victory over Cullompton, is working but Mike Scott and Todd Hanrahan are free of work commitments to make the trip.
Leigh Cooper's Launceston side will be looking to hold on to pole position when they meet Saltash United at Pennygillam. The visitors can pick their new signing, from Newquay, Danny Zalick.
Liskeard are advertising for a manager after the resignation of Martin Burgess, with senior player Gavin Welsh in charge in the interim.
Welsh awaits news on the availability of Steve Sims and Robbie Almond before naming a squad which will include the returning Steve Murphy for the trip to St Austell.
Another side advertising for a manager are Bovey Tracey. They are also on their travels as they visit St Blazey, who have striker Seb Broomfield returning from his holidays. Joe Smith (suspension) and Lewis Edwards (groin) will sit out the game.
Two consecutive draws, and a first clean-sheet, have put Penzance in good heart for their trip to Witheridge, while Liverton United entertain Camelford.
Elburton Villa, who lost 2-1 at Liverton last weekend, are due to entertain Tavistock, who have moved up to third in the Premier Division after four straight victories.
