Rain thwarts Rebels' bid to build lead
SPEEDWAY: The League Cup semi-final between Somerset Rebels and Newcastle Diamonds only got as far as heat five on Wednesday night as torrential rain caused the meeting to be abandoned, with the Rebels leading 18-12. The meeting at the Oaktree Arena will now be re-staged on Friday, September 28, with Somerset's first home meeting in the championship-deciding play-offs being moved back to the following Friday, October 5.
