Rainford urges All Blacks: time for consistency
CORNISH All Blacks head coach Cliff Rainford is seeking more consistency from his team after they returned to winning ways with a fine 39-24 bonus-point victory over Taunton last weekend.
The All Blacks have not strung two wins together all season, but they have the ideal opportunity to put that right tomorrow when they play struggling Lydney at Polson Bridge (2.30 pm).
The Forest of Dean side are lying second from bottom of the National Two South table, having lost eight of their nine league games.
"Consistency has eluded us so far," said Rainford. "When we play well, we play really, really well, and on Saturday, not only did we play well in the tight, but we threw the ball about and looked really good in the backs.

"We have got Lydney at home now, and then two on the road against Bournemouth and Barking – all teams in the bottom four – and on paper we should be looking to maximise our points from those games.
"But we have got to stop doing what we have done in previous weeks, where we have won one game and then fallen apart in the next game.
"It is very important now that we build on last Saturday and move forward."
Lydney lost 31-23 at home to Redruth last weekend, but five of their last six defeats have been by a margin of eight points or less, and Rainford agreed that they need to be respected.
"You can never think it is going to be an easy game in this division," he said. "Everyone said Chinnor would come up and be a mediocre side in their first season in our division, and they are riding high in the table.
"Lydney are not an easy team to play at any time, so we have got to put our best game out on the pitch.
"I don't worry too much about who the opposition are though. If we go out and play our game, I know we can win."
The All Blacks picked up a few bumps and bruises against Taunton, but there were no major injury problems
First-choice hooker Tom Hurdwell is also getting back to fitness and is not too far off a return to action.
