A PLYMOUTH walking group is inviting the public to join them as they celebrate 75 years as part of a national walking charity.

The Plymouth Ramblers want you to join their celebration at 10.45am, Sunday January 31, at Bere Alston train station, for a walk along the beautiful Bere Peninsular and help Devon make its historic link in the baton walk.

For three quarters of a century, since its 1935 inauguration, the Ramblers has helped coax, campaign and, path-by-path, build Britain into one of the most walk-friendly countries in the world.

Tom Franklin, CEO of the Ramblers, said: "For 75 years, the Ramblers has existed as Britain's walking charity, to help everyone experience the joy of walking."
