Rare crab found in haul
A rare crab has been picked up in British waters – only one of a handful discovered in the last 100 years.
The maerl bright red crab, above, was accidentally caught in the pots of fishermen Cameron and Ivor Henry while they were out at sea off St Mawes, Cornwall.

The last crustacean of its kind was also found in Cornwall, in 2009, by fisherman Tim Bailey and that was only the third to be recorded in more than a century.
The species, Liocarcinus corrugatus, also known as the wrinkled swimmer crab, grows to a maximum of six centimetres.

The Blue Reef aquarium in Newquay, which has taken the crab in, said the species can be highly aggressive.
