Concertgoers are in for a treat tomorrow when North Devon's resident symphony orchestra, the North Devon Sinfonia, teams up with the choir of West Buckland School to perform Beethoven's epic 9th Symphony – The Choral, often cited as Beethoven's greatest masterpiece.

Composed on a grand scale, the Ninth Symphony has a running time of over 70 minutes and will occupy the entire second half of the performance at the Queen's Theatre, Barnstaple, where staff believe it is being performed for the first time.

The first half of the concert includes a performance of Tchaikovsky's lyrical Romeo and Juliet Fantasy Overture, preceded by a stirring performance of Aaron Copland's Fanfare for the Common Man by North Devon Sinfonia brass.
