Red carpet for our Olympic star!
OLYMPIC bronze medal winner Cassie Patten was given the red carpet treatment by Caradon District Council when a civic presentation was held in her honour.
The swimmer from St Neot received an engraved vase and flowers from council chairman Paul Adams, who said Cassie's determination and hard work which led to her winning a bronze in the women's 10k open swim showed just what could be achieved.

Members of Caradon Swimming Club were present and many were keen to get her autograph and to have photos taken with the 20-year-old. Cassie once worked at Lux Park Leisure Centre. Council leader John Turner said he hoped her triumph would inspire others in the district to become Olympic athletes of the future.
