Culture and commerce go hand in hand in the Regency charm of Kennaway House – set in its own peaceful grounds, a short walk from Sidmouth seafront and town centre.

Run by a charitable trust, its elegant rooms are ideal for conferences, weddings and art exhibitions.

This handsome Regency mansion, built in 1805, the year of Trafalgar, benefited from a £1 million full restoration in 2008-9, which gave the Grade II* listed building a sparkling new lease of life.

With impressive gallery space and high, graceful rooms, it has the versatility to accommodate groups from ten to 100.

This makes Kennaway House an ideal venue for meetings, business training, seminars, workshops and conferences, as well as weddings and community events, such as its successful "meet the author" evenings.

The obliging staff are on hand to ensure everything runs smoothly, with specific requirements catered for.

Everything is available, from flipchart and stand, digital projector and screen, to whiteboards, WiFi internet access, photocopying and refreshments. Buffet lunches can be booked through local caterers.

Kennaway's elegant Regency rooms, the Hatton Wood and Amyatt on the ground floor, enable the trust to cater for all occasions. The former seats up to 60 guests for lunches or dinners and the latter is suitable for buffets.

Ideal for formal gatherings and conferences, they can quickly be converted to concerts and recital venues.

The Cellar Bar is also available for buffet lunches and dinners, weddings and parties, seating up to 100.

Close to the Esplanade and town centre, with its shops, hotels and restaurants, Kennaway House is a thriving centre with funds from corporate events aiding its busy arts programme.
