Reported sex attack shocks Penzance residents
A MAN was arrested this week on suspicion of the serious sexual assault of a young woman who was reportedly attacked in Penzance.
Police carried out a search of Chyandour Lane following reports of the incident, which is believed to have happened at around 10.30pm on Sunday.
Officers also carried out house-to-house inquiries and searched nearby gardens.
Chyandour Lane was cordoned off for a number of hours on Monday as police conducted their investigations.

"There were about five police cars," said a local woman, who wished to remain anonymous.
"And there was police tape across the road with two policemen at the end of the road turning people away."
She added that she lived in a tight-knit neighbourhood and the alleged assault would have shocked everyone living there.
"It is lovely here, a lovely place," she said. "I am a bit churned up that something like that could happen."
The local man, in his forties, was arrested a short time after the incident was reported and released on bail until Monday, February 18.
