Fire & Rescue Service gets 350 callouts

Heavy rain and high rivers have made for a busy night for the emergency services.

Cornwall Fire & Rescue Service have been inundated with incidents, which started at approximately 2pm on Saturday afternoon. Fire Control have received or acted on over 350 various incidents up to 6am on Sunday morning.

Cornwall Fire & Rescue teams from every station within the County have been active throughout the night. All incidents attended were those classified as "Life Risk" or those involving major pumping out of properties which were severely flooded.

The Service's High Volume Pump was mobilised to Perranporth to assist in removing a large volume of water from surrounding properties after the river broke its banks. Crews from Helston and Camborne are still at Trenear, Helston, helping with pumping water out of properties there.
