CUTTING down a barrier of trees has made life hell for a group of residents at Camborne.

They live at Meadow Drive and Willow Drive, right beside the noisy A30.

The trees protected their homes from the worst of the noise but now that protection has gone.

The residents' complaints have been take up by local Cornwall councillor Dave Biggs.

He said: "I have received complaints about an increase in traffic noise and visual intrusion.

"A letter sent by the Highways Agency to local residents referred to pruning but it's clear that healthy and mature trees have been felled."

One of the residents suffering most is Dave Wilkins, whose home in Willow Drive is level with the A30.

"Chopping down the trees has made a lot of difference, with the extra noise and headlights shining in our rooms, and in the summer, with all the holidaymakers, the noise will be continuous.

"We are very angry with the Highways Agency. What we want them to do now is put up a barrier between our homes and the road."
