Newquay enjoys action-packed day for RNLI
An action-packed day of lifesaving demonstrations, military muscle and music helped to raise thousands of pounds for the RNLI yesterday.
The fun-filled day in Newquay began with a parade to the harbour led by the Air Training Corps Band and Kernow Pipes and Drums.

RNLI lifeguards and Newquay coastguards were also on hand to show their rescue skills while the public were able to see two inshore lifeboats at close quarters.
Other highlights included the Royal Artillery "Black Knights" parachute team parachuting into the sea off Towan beach. Donations were still being counted last night but the event traditionally raises well in excess of £3,000.
