Restaurant may be turned into flats
A defunct sea view restaurant could be replaced with a block of flats after controversial plans were approved. Businessman Andrew Preston wants to redevelop the Seawings Restaurant at Mount Batten in Plymouth into a four-storey building containing commercial space and seven luxury apartments. Plymouth city councillor Michael Leaves said: "It is too large for the area, it's massive, it's domineering." However, city planning officer Robert Herd assured the committee the South West Coast Path would not be affected by the building.
