A leading Truro businessman appears to be behind plans to take over the city's stricken football club.

The administrators for Truro City had until 5pm today to come up with a £50,000 bond or they would be expelled from the Football Conference. As the deadline passed administrators said that negotiations were ongoing with the Football Conference and a resolution could be reached tonight.

“Don't know Fistral20, just seemed like a good idea to me, 51% share owned by supporters and that way it can never have its finances abused again because they can just say no to building the club up on debt and no investor can do anything about it.”

“Phil_lip, Supporters Trusts or such like are definitely the way forward, as the Club is then owned and run by the people that matter. Was there any interest among the Truro supporters in taking the Club over?”

“Should have done what Exeter did and the fans should have taken the reigns, that way the club would really have been protected for the future.”

“Of more interest than the value of the Club is the value of the land that it plays on.”

“Oh, let's not forget his running up the driveway in Manchester when being confronted by a That's Life presenter years and years ago.

But let's definitely forget that godawful poorly constructed and presented Panorama stitch up the BBC did (shame on you BBC for such wholly biased tripe).”

“Ah ha ha ha ha ha!!!

Tony's a good bloke, loves football.

But let's not forget Baltic Pine eh?

He'll either be EXACTLY what the football club needs or EXACTLY what the football team doesn't need.

Either way, he deserves a chance and the support from the fans for this opportunity the club now has...and nobody is going to be worse than Heaney!!!”
