Roseland Festival gets under way
THE Roseland Festival will open in style later today with an intimate evening of music at St Just Church.
The two-week long festival will see dozens of events take place all across the Roseland including concerts, walks, pub quizzes, exhibitions, a Beach Boys party night and much more.
Rosa Rebecka will kick off the festival with a performance at St Just in Roseland Church at 7.30pm. The Swedish songstress will blend music with storytelling and narrative.
Organiser Andy Thomas said: “There’s lots going on at venues all across the Roseland.

We hope to see as many people turn out as possible.
“We’re looking forward to welcoming Callington Community Gospel Choir at Veryan on Saturday September 28, a choir which started in 2005 and has been on BBC radio and television.
“Roseland Community School are putting on a Caribbean evening on Tuesday October 1 so watch out for tropical cocktails and food. We have a completely different type of concert on Wednesday October 2 at St.Just Church with two well respected local choirs, Tresillian Choir and Eight in a Bar, so a ladies choir versus a male choir, should be good.
“Then Tregony Village Hall will play host to the fantastic St.Dennis Brass Band on Thursday October 3 who are British Champions.”
