Roselyon pupils have outstanding personal development, say inspectors
Hidden behind woodland, up a hill and round a corner, Roselyon School, Par is not the easiest school to find but this is part of its charm.
Children, described by inspectors as having 'outstanding personal development' explore their surroundings and discover learning in the world around them.
Small classes allow individual learning; the children are educated to become the best that they can be, not trained to pass exams, although they are good enough to gain scholarships to senior schools for academic excellence, sport, art and music when they leave. Extra-curricular opportunities are exceptional with sport and art clubs, music ensembles, choirs, dance, book clubs and, starting in February, fencing club of excellence.
Away from the larger towns, Roselyon's catchment area is large, so buses run from as far away as Wadebridge and Bodmin, Looe and Grampound, Taphouse and Liskeard

"We are here for each child," says Hilary Mann, Head of Roselyon. "Our children are inquisitive, caring, and thoroughly engaged in learning. They want to know why things happen and how things work and our job is – not to tell them but to help them discover how to find out."
