The driver of a rubbish truck was treated by paramedics after his vehicle overturned in North Cornwall and left him trapped in the cab.

A fire appliance and a specialist rescue tender from Bodmin Fire Station were called to the Carminnow Roundabout off the A30, at Bodmin yesterday.

An HGV carrying domestic rubbish was lying on its side and the driver was unable to get out.

Crews used crash rescue equipment to rescue the driver then handed the man over to a doctor and ambulance crew who treated him at the roadside.
