SUE Rowe took a trip down memory lane at the Coombe Horse Show where she landed the Rob Richards Trophy riding Whisper of Caenlochan en route to the overall championship.

The Sticker-based breeder won this prestigious award back in 1979 when it was originally presented.

"Sue's name is the first one on the cup," said show secretary, Molly Richards whose father-in-law Rob Richards donated the trophy to the show.

"She won the trophy when it was presented in memory of Rob back in 1979. Sue has shown horses and ponies at Coombe for years and has also judged on several occasions for us.

"She is a longstanding supporter of the show and was absolutely thrilled to win this special trophy. She knew my father-in-law Rob who was a contemporary of her own father Arthur. Rob was a master of the Mid Cornwall Beagles for many years."

The win brought back special memories for Sue, who said: "I remember Rob taking me hunting when I was only four or five years-old. I've won this trophy many times and am thrilled to bring it home again with Whisper of Caenlochan."
