SW construction boost
The South West construction market is set to turn a corner this year, says the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).
In the recent quarterly RICS survey of its members, 15% more surveyors across the South West reported they expect their workload to grow over the coming 12 months.
The most substantial gain was seen in infrastructure. Seven per cent more South West surveyors reported rises rather than falls in activity in this area. However, 94% of South West surveyors said that financial constraints are holding the construction industry back. Almost half also claimed that poor weather conditions have hampered a recovery in the sector.
