Michelle Sanders and her outstanding five-year-old mare One Vision added another impressive championship to their superb record when they lifted the ridden hunter championship under judge Andrew Trezise at Lanivet Show.

This versatile combination are enjoying a stunning first season, excelling not only in the show ring but also in eventing.

Confirming her talent and expertise for producing young competition horses, Michelle has carefully brought on this daughter of Relief Pitcher to a high level.

"She's the first horse I've ever had with the potential to go all the way," said Michelle, who is based at Lanlivery where she runs the Cornish Rosette Company and Kernow Equestrian alongside her mother Jenny.

"I've always had to sell on my good horses to fund competing. I'm determined to keep this mare and see how far we can go. She's got a super temperament and is a pleasure to produce. Everything I've asked her to do she's taken in her stride."

Michelle and One Vision have impressed a string of judges around the county this season.

The pair began their campaign with the reserve supreme of show at Porth Valley Riding under judge Rosemary Ball and continued with the supreme at Troon, a win in the novice working hunters at Liskeard, victory over the ridden hunters at Stithians, the hunter championship at Camborne and a win in the President's Challenge.

"I'd love to take her through the ranks with British Eventing," said Michelle, who bought the 17hh mare direct from her Delabole-based breeder Richard Dalgleish.

"We won the intro at Lanhydrock and I'm looking forward to the three-day at Chyverton Park. She's got all the right attributes for eventing but it's the financial burden which will curtail our future in this discipline. I'd love to attract a sponsor to help fulfil her potential."

The remaining showing championships and reserve awards went to Dalcotes Stud (Ballyboe Lady); Kelly Rogers (Shalimarne Lady Inscharella); Kelly Rogers (Sally's Choice); Lucy Booth (Harrison); Fiona Vincent (Hazeldean Ballaphron); Shirley Lobb & Fiona Dymond (Fingerpost Ella); Georgie Simmonds (Newoak Designer Label); Dionne Green (Hakkari); Webb Family (Tredellans Whisper); Mr S & Miss G Trevenna (Colby Silver Ghost); Mary Gwennap (Tredellans Danny Boy); Graham Laity (Trevarth Galahad).

The 56th Annual Lanivet Show was held in aid of the Precious Lives Appeal where five busy rings ran until early evening.

Show president James Thomas was accompanied on a tour of the showground by chairman Roger James having previously presented the cup to the winner of the open working hunter class.

On behalf of the Lanivet Show committee, secretary Shirley Lobb thanked core-sponsors Mid-Cornwall Brokers along with the hardworking judges, stewards and helpers.
