PENRYN College has been celebrating a number of sporting achievements.
The girls' hockey and netball teams now include four county champion teams and two national championship representatives, while the school's cross-country teams won the Devon and Cornwall championships and also did well at the South West Championships.
In netball there are champion teams from different year groups. Year 7's team and Year 8's B team won their classes at the county festival, while Year 9 won its third consecutive county title and goes on to the national championships at Bournemouth in February.
The girls' under-14 hockey team went to the national championships in Clifton as Cornish champions, Ethan McFadzean-Griffiths won a silver medal at the GTI British Taekwondo championships and Izzy Berks, 13, has been selected to attend the Elite Performance Training Camp for the England women's under-15 football team.
Izzy already trains with the Devon FC girls' centre of excellence as well as representing the school in cross- country, surf lifesaving, netball, rounders, swimming, athletics and hockey.
Jake Ash, the school's football development officer and Truro City FC captain, said: "All Izzy's hard work and dedication means she's so deserving of this opportunity. The list of players boasts girls who are signed to the likes of Arsenal and Chelsea."
