School gets visit from morris dancers

CHILDREN at Otterham Primary School had a visit from a side of morris dancers last week.

The team had travelled to North Cornwall from Winkleigh in North Devon where they started to learn the traditional form of country dancing in 1990.

Children were treated to a display of dancing and then, following the instructions of the dancers, they showed their skills on the dance- floor.

Children from the age of 4 to 11 thoroughly enjoyed the experience and learnt some of the history and origins of morris dancing.
