School to launch a lunchtime radio show
STUDENTS at Cape Cornwall School will launch their own online radio station on Monday allowing them to broadcast daily lunchtime shows around the world.
The half-hour shows will include local and national news, weather, music, chat and school announcements and will be broadcast at 1.35pm through the school's website.
The project involves pupils of all ages who have volunteered as presenters or researchers and it is hoped parents, former students and the community will tune in to the broadcasts.
Year 11 student Gabriel Lucas-Green said: "We're almost ready to go. We have the licenses we need, the equipment is set up and we're in the process of training all the students who want to take part."

Head teacher Julie Nash added: "I really cannot wait for the launch of this radio station at Cape. Gabriel and his team have proven to be great leaders and ambassadors for this work and we are all extremely proud of them.
"They can be trusted to just get on and do, have sought the assistance they have needed and have proved beyond doubt that they are resourceful, resilient students, who show great maturity."
