Scout hopes for role at the Pole
A CAMBORNE Scout has been given a chance to compete for a place in the organisation's first expedition to the North Pole.
Sam Jones, 22, from the 1st Camborne (Roskear) Scout group, is one of four Scouts in the South West selected to take part in the challenge.

Sam is off to Dartmoor this weekend for part of the selection process.
Those picked for the expedition will travel to Norway for a week's intensive training in Arctic survival skills.
They will then spend three weeks skiing the last two degrees of latitude to the geographic North Pole in one of the harshest environments on the planet during spring 2014.
Sam has been involved in Scouting for 16 years and said: "I'm always looking for the next big challenge.
"I've been hiking all over the UK, in the Swiss Alps, and backpacked around Corfu, but nothing compares to making it to the North Pole.
"I hope to be the first Cornish Scout to make it there."
Scouts On the Pole is an expedition organised by Cornish Scouting to provide a life- changing opportunity for members of the organisation in the South West.
The expedition is being run by Wez Swain.
