AUSTRALIAN theatre company, Eagle's Nest will be performing the Dickens classic "A Christmas Carol" at The Acorn, Penzance on December 28.  Probably the most popular of all Dickens works, it's a story that never grows stale in the telling.

Ebenezer Scrooge may be the greediest man in England.  He has no charity or sympathy for anyone and takes great joy in avoiding social engagements.  On Christmas Eve, Scrooge is haunted by a vision of his deceased business partner, Jacob Marley.  Marley warns that his greed will cause him nothing but misery in the afterlife, and that his salvation depends on heeding the lessons of three ghosts that will come his way.  That night, as Scrooge ventures forth with the Ghosts of Christmas past, Christmas Present and Christmas Yet To Come, he begins to see that it's never too late to make a change.

This production is a stunning recreation of the readings with which Charles Dickens toured the world. Phil Zachariah (starring as Mr Dickens) and director James Adler (the founder of Eagle's Nest Theatre) have worked directly from the original prompt copy and eyewitness accounts to create a performance that truly channels the spirit of Dickens.

Don't be a Scrooge - reconnect with family and friends and fall in love with the original Christmas story as you've never experienced it before.

When you hear this familiar tale told as the great author himself would have wished – it is immediately clear why people flocked in their thousands to see it in Dickens' day and why this production has played to standing ovations and critical acclaim every year since 2003

After making his home at Melbourne's Athenaeum Theatre Dickens will take to the skies in an international tour set to perform in Europe, Asia, UK & New Zealand.  Make this show part of your Christmas Tradition!.

"Four and a half star brilliance" (Herald Sun)
