Search goes on for missing ferry teenager Jordan Cobb
The girlfriend of Jordan Cobb, who leapt from a ferry, joined volunteers in the desperate search for him yesterday and vowed to "never give up hope".
Jordan, 16, of Plymouth, is missing, feared drowned, after he jumped off the Torpoint ferry on New Year's Eve as it crossed the River Tamar, Plymouth. But tearful Savanah Rich, 16, joined emergency services, friends and volunteers as they combed the banks of the river yesterday for any sign of him.
She said: "People haven't given up on Madeleine McCann – so there's no way we're giving up on Jordan."
Her boyfriend, who wanted to become a lifeguard, disappeared as the ferry neared the slipway in Torpoint. He and friends were travelling to celebrate the new year. He would only have survived in the water for an hour before bitterly cold temperatures would likely have claimed his life.
