NOVEMBER 18 to 20: Trereife Christmas Fair runs from 5pm to 8pm on the Friday and 10am to 4pm over the weekend. Featuring stalls, activities and a whole world of Christmas fun for all the family.

November 26: Causewayhead, seasonal market open from 11am to 6pm and featuring a wide array of seasonal goodies and festive food. The Causewayhead processions run as follows: 1pm to 2pm, Pensans Morris; 2.30pm to 3.30pm, Penzamba; 4pm to 5pm, The Turkey Rhubarb Band.

Mayor Jan Ruhrmund will switch the lights on at Wharfside Shopping Centre at 4.15pm and Causewayhead at 5pm.

A number of performances will take place by the Sir Humphry Davy statue throughout the day: morning: Salvation Army Band; noon to 1pm: Penzance Silver Band; 1pm to 1.45pm: The Orpheus Ladies' Choir; 1.45pm to 2.30pm: Mount's Bay Singers; 2.30pm to 3pm: Levow an Bys; 3pm to 3.45pm: Humphry Davy Brass Band; 3.45pm to 4.30pm: Humphry Davy Choir and Newlyn Male Voice Choir; 4.30pm to 5.30pm: Penzance Youth Wind Band.

Also by the statue, at 4.30pm, Cornish Hospice Care's Light Up A Life service takes place, followed by the lights switch-on.

December 16 to 21: Montol Festival, culminating in the River of Lights procession on Wednesday, December 21.
