Seeking safety on site
AN ARTICLE printed in the Cornish Guardian on January 4, 2013 included the headline, "Bounced cheque means councillors must pay up".
The article concerned related to a cheque made out on behalf of Withiel Parish Council which was not honoured by the bank.
This was not because there were insufficient funds as may have been suggested by the headline.
It was because of a problem with one of the signatures on the cheque which was explained in the body of the article. There was no intention of misleading readers and we are happy to set the record straight.
