Shoppers urged to get a taste of new-look Spar shop in Truro's Lemon Quay.
VISITORS to Truro's Lemon Quay could be forgiven for thinking they had gone back in time with the re-opening of a Spar shop almost four years to the day after it closed.
The new-look shop next to the Pannier Market is the brainchild of co-director Tim Smith, who formerly ran the clothing store on the site. His team hopes to cash in on the demand for hot food on the go – alongside the newspapers, confectionery, tobacco, grocery and off-licence, the takeaway food will be prepared in a newly built kitchen.
Mr Smith, who has worked in retail for 24 years, said: "We've had quite a number of members of the public come in and say 'great – it's back'.
"We aim to be a general store for the general needs of a city centre – and we have some great offers on."
