Shutters come down on Jessops in Cornwall
Two Jessops stores in Cornwall, at Truro and Penzance, have closed as a result of the photographic company going into adminstration, with the loss of 1370 jobs across the country.
The joint administrator Rob Hunt, from Pricewaterhouse Coopers, said "It is apparent that we cannot continue to trade and as a result we have had to make the difficult decision to begin the closure of all 187 Jessops stores at the close of business today."
In addition to job losses relating to shop closures he added that there are "further job losses likely, in due course, at the head office in Leicester."
As a result of the move into administration, Jessops is unable to honour vouchers, cannot complete any outstanding photo processing and is no longer able to accept returned products from customers.

Jessops was established in 1935 by Frank Jessop, who opened a shop in Leicester selling 16mm cine film. By the end of the 1980s it had fifty stores throughout the UK.
Photographic retail outlets in the high street have been affected by the move from analogue to digital photography and the increasing use of the Internet for the purchase of cameras, accessories and services.

“"with the loss of 1370 jobs across the country."
And how many jobs will be lost in Cornwall?”
