Silent cinema club puts some swing into comedy classic
Cornwall's silent film club is kicking off its autumn season with a cocktail of music and movies from the golden age of cinema-going.
Combining the physical talents of Buster Keaton and an accompanying live soundtrack, the organisers hope to recreate the excitement of early movie theatres.

Steamboat Bill Jr, directed by Charles Reisner in 1928, is a feature-length silent comedy regarded by film buffs as Keaton at his best. It boasts some of the most astonishing images of the actor's career, as his character survives falling buildings and a disintegrating town.
For this Friday's screening in Falmouth, audiences will hear banjos, trombone, slide guitar and double bass, courtesy of Cornwall's Old Time Swing Band (pictured), who recently returned from an extensive European tour and appearances at the Olympics.
