Slightly Different digital agency of Penryn wins international award for its work in the community
A PENRYN-based digital agency has won an award for its outstanding contributions to community development.
Slightly Different was the only business from within Northern Europe to win the international Social Investment Pioneer Award.
It was chosen as the best small company in the strategic corporate philanthropy category.
In 12 years it has supported more than 50 charities, organisations and individuals with activities ranging from regional support of Children's Hospice South West to national efforts, like raising awareness of International Animal Rescue.
Co-founder and executive director Jeremy Hurst said: "This is a great honour for the entire team and those who have worked with us in the past.
"We are fortunate to have such a fantastic team and great client base who have made this possible and, by sharing our good fortune, we can make a difference to others who are less fortunate."
The award ceremony took place in Australia and the British Consul-General Gareth Hoar received the award on the company's behalf.
He said he was "proud" that the UK business environment is one where world-class creativity, innovation and social conscience, as displayed by Slightly Different, can thrive.
