Slimming success leads to hug from TV star Paddy McGuinness
A PAIR of Slimming World consultants had the time of their lives snuggling up to TV star and comedian Paddy McGuinness at a glitzy awards ceremony in London.
Elaine Minear and Louise Beauley, who run Slimming World groups in St Blazey and St Austell, met the Take Me Out presenter at Slimming World's annual awards last month.
"He was absolutely lovely," said Miss Minear, Slimming World team developer for mid and North Cornwall.
"Very nice to hug," she added.

During the ceremony the 37-year-old collected an award from the former Phoenix Nights star, who co-hosted the event, on behalf of her team.
"I look after a team of consultants and they retained the most members who joined in January 2013 out of all areas in the whole country," she explained.
"This is a massive achievement and, as you can imagine, I am so proud of them all and their commitment to each and every one of their members."
Speaking after the ceremony Mr McGuinness, who used to be a fitness instructor, said he was impressed after hearing about the work the consultants do.
"I have to admit the most I knew about Slimming World before the awards was a gag in Peter's routine that refers to Slimming World as being £1 cheaper than its competitors," he said.
"Jokes aside, I was genuinely amazed to hear about what a difference consultants like Louise and Elaine make to people's lives."
Louise, who runs Slimming World groups at St Stephens Churchtown and Sandy Hill Academy, said meeting Paddy at the event, which was held at Birmingham's International Convention Centre, was the cherry on the top of a great year for slimmers in St Blazey.
"Obviously the most important thing of all is that the group have lost weight and improved their health throughout 2013 and I'm so proud of all of my members – many of them have achieved their target weights and been able do things they never thought possible before slimming down, including doing more with their families, taking up new hobbies, reducing medication or simply fitting in smaller-sized clothes," she said.
"I can't wait to see what 2014 holds for us and I'd love anyone who's thinking about losing weight this January to join us," she added.
