A SOLAR energy company is holding a pubic exhibition today about its plans to build a 5MW solar farm near Bodmin.

Solar Securities is proposing to build the new solar farm on 13 hectares of low-grade agricultural land at Middle Bodiniel Farm, which, it says, could meet the electricity needs of 1,000 homes.

It would be located next to the company's existing 5MW solar farm at Lower Bodiniel Farm off Copshorn Road, which was completed earlier this year.

Solar Securities' director Nick Richardson said: "Following our first exhibition we will be presenting more details about our plans, including how we intend to handle construction traffic, which was an issue identified by a number of local people at the first consultation.
