South West Water advise Fowey residents to 'run taps for up to two hours' after water discolouration
Water company South West Water is advising residents to run their taps for up to two hours after receiving reports of discoloured water.
The firm has apologised and said it is due to “operational problems”.
A South West Water spokesman said it is monitoring the situation and had received six calls of water discolouration earlier today, which had cleared.
But at about 4pm a further three reports were received by the firm from customers who had also experienced discoloured water running from their taps.

A spokesman said: “South West Water would like to apologise to any of our customers who are experiencing discolouration in the Fowey area. This is due to operational problems.”
"We recommended customers run their taps to clear. A change of flow of water can result in discoloured water which is why we recommend customers run their taps for two hours to allow the water to run clear. Metered customers can apply for a run off allowance to cover the cost of this, added the spokesman.
