A 70-YEAR-OLD former taxi driver has been banned from driving for six months after accruing penalty points on his licence.
George Truscott, who lives in a caravan at the Ship Inn, Polmear, appeared before Bodmin magistrates for sentence on Monday, October 14, after pleading guilty to speeding at 41mph in a 30mph area of the A390 at St Blazey on May 3.
The court was told that at the time of the offence he had nine live penalty points on his licence for speeding.
Truscott was fined £90 with £60 costs and a £20 victim surcharge as well as being given six penalty points, triggering the ban under the points totting up procedure.
