Speedway: Cornwall riders Chris Harris and Ben Barker to face each other at Plymouth
TOP Cornish speedway riders Chris Harris and Ben Barker will figure in some keen and friendly rivalry when they face each other in a special challenge match at Plymouth's St Boniface Arena on Friday evening (7.15pm).
Harris will make his first appearance in the West Country for a number of years when he leads an Exeter Select side against a Devils line-up headed by Barker.
It will be the first time Harris has ridden at the St Boniface Arena, although he has ridden regularly in Cornwall and Devon over the years.
The Truro-born 30-year-old began riding for St Austell in 1998 and then spent two years with Exeter before returning to Cornwall with Trelawny in the Premier League.

Since then he has developed into one of the country's top riders, currently appearing for Birmingham in the Elite League, having been three times British Champion, in addition to winning the British Grand Prix in 2007.
Plymouth co-promoter Ashley Taylor says: "Chris is one of the top British riders and comes from Cornwall but has never ridden at the St Boniface Arena before, so it will be really interesting to see how he shapes up on our track."
Barker is well used to the tight confines of the Plymouth circuit, having been the Devils number one and captain during the 2011 and 2012 seasons.
He now rides for Ipswich in the Premier league and is also a team-mate of Harris at Birmingham.
Barker gave a reminder of his capabilities around the St Boniface Arena when he won the Westernapolis individual meeting last Friday evening and then looked forward to returning again this week.
Sporting a broad smile, Barker said: "Being up against Chris will give us the chance to show who is the top Cornish rider."
Barker will replace the unavailable Mikkel Bech in the Plymouth side with another former Devils favourite Ricky Wells guesting in place of Todd Kurtz, who also has another engagement next Friday.
In addition to Harris, the Exeter line-up will include former Falcon Leigh Lanham and a couple of former Plymouth riders Ryan Fisher and Jason Bunyan.
