The Men's Open, once again sponsored by Sailors, has attracted some of the best sevens teams in Europe. The British Army, Apache Raiders and Burrda Ronin along with the Royal Navy Sharks will all be fighting it out.
The Akuma Sports Cup, to be played on Sunday July 1, will feature 40 teams and Andy is pleased to announce the increased number of Cornish teams who have entered.
Hayle, Bude Leopards, Capio Eggs, Morgan Marauders and Kernow Kingers. Pasty tax campaigner, Kernow King, tackles Newquay after a successful first outing at this year's Penryn Sevens. Andy is happy with how the tournament is developing from year to year adding: " I never have problems attracting teams to Newquay, the facilities that we provide at Newquay Sports Centre and Newquay Tretherras School are second to none.
"I am also very grateful to our sponsors Sailors, HSS Hire, Akuma Sports and Newquay Arms and to the town of Newquay who make all our competitors feel so welcome.
"There has a great response to our 25 year reunion. Out of the 51 players who played for the first team, we have been able to locate 48 of them and over 40 have confirmed that they are attending. Fellow Old Hornets are invited to join the reunion from 2pm at Newquay Sports Centre on Saturday June 30.
