A PARTY of 13 young cricketers from Truro College are flying out to Sri Lanka today for an eight day training camp.

The party will be led Sean Hooper, director of the College's Cricket Academy, accompanied by coaches Chris Hunkin and Nigel Sanders.

Hooper said: "It should be an unforgettable trip with a high quality, intense cricket coaching environment and great preparation for the 2010 season.

"This can only benefit the development of our young players and ultimately the standard of cricket in Cornwall as a whole.

Players include Cornwall's youngest ever Minor Counties player Taylor Williams from St Austell, who is on the Notts Academy, plus premier league players Paul Smith and Jake Libby.

Touring party: Taylor Williams (St Austell); Mark Johnson (Falmouth); Simon Fry (Werrington); Tom Eggins (Newquay); Charlie Mclachlan (Wadebridge); James Franklin (Hayle); Adrian Gordon (Truro); Ross Pascoe (Truro); Paul Smith (Werrington); Dan Hardy (Kingsbridge); Jake Libby (Callington), Max Miller (Paul) and Chris Farndon (Falmouth).

● The College are SW champions, both indoors and outdoors, and the superb facilities at the Cornwall Cricket Centre onsite have provided a great environment for the winter training programme, which gives the players up to 10 and a half hours cricket each week.
