St Agnes quiz raises money for the Camborne, Pool and Redruth Foodbank.
Pub goers in St Agnes have raised more than £1,000 for the Camborne, Pool and Redruth Foodbank (CPR Foodbank).
Customers at the St Agnes Hotel dug deep and donated £1,100 to the nearby foodbank during a recent quiz night.
The charity event, which included a raffle, auction and a quiz read out by Cornwall Councillor Pete Mitchell, wanted to raise money for families struggling with the increased cost of living.
Toby Parkins, a local resident and owner of Headforwards in Pool, said “Local businesses and individuals were exceptionally generous in donating items and services that were either raffled off or auctioned for such a good cause.
“It was very much a parish wide team effort and we’d like to thank all those that helped, contributed or donated.”
Representatives from the St Agnes community handed over the cheque on New Year’s Day.
The CPR Foodbank, which started in 2010, had more than 40 volunteers and delivers around 23,000 meals each week.
