St Austell BID manager appointed
A MANAGER has been appointed to oversee the spending of £600,000 to boost St Austell town centre over the next five years.
A Business Improvement District (BID) was voted in by the businesses of the town in January.
They will pay a levy on their business rates, meaning from April 1, £120,000 will be available to spend on projects that the businesses themselves have indicated as priorities to attract more visitors.
This week Myles Ward, from Truro, was appointed to the paid position of BID manager and starts on Tuesday, April 2.
