St Buryan Primary School has a visit from Father Ch
FATHER Christmas and two of his reindeer visited children at St Buryan Academy Primary School, bringing a touch of festive sparkle to the village.
The school hosted an event for pupils, who were able to meet Santa, learn more about his flying companions and enjoy seasonal treats.
The celebration was organised by local support group Friends of St Buryan School, which is chaired by Malvina Jenkin, whose son attends.
She said it was a lovely afternoon and although a yearly event, the reindeer were a first.

"We had two real reindeer – Merry and Christmas – which was amazing," she said. "Everyone really loved seeing them.
"It was fun but also an educational visit – the children were able to learn more about the animals and feed them."
Pupils had their photographs taken with Santa, took part in various activities and visited festive stalls stocked up with kindling, cakes, hampers and other seasonal delights. Much of the proceeds went to the school.
"My little boy had a great time," added Mrs Jenkin.
"It was a really good event. Everyone was getting in the spirit of Christmas."
Head teacher Janet Pascoe said: "Local people from the community said how much they enjoyed it and are already looking forward to next year.
"We had people come down from farther afield this time round.
"The children really loved it."
Other events planned include a special lunch for pupils and, on Tuesday, an open carol service at the village church, starting at 4.30pm.
