St Ives Lifeboat called on a shout after a successful Lifeboat Day
St Ives Lifeboat was called out on a shout last night to help search for a missing person, just hours after a successful display at the town’s annual Lifeboat Day.
The call came at 6.20pm when the crew joined the coastguard and a search and rescue helicopter from Culdrose in the search for missing Illogan man, Derek Wilton, last seen in the North Cliffs area yesterday morning.
St Ives RNLI’s, Derek Hall, said: "We were tasked to search for a missing person past Godrevy. The crew never stopped, they done a thorough search.”
The crew never found anything and returned to the station at 8.30pm.
