St Ives holiday couple scoop lotto jackpot
A COUPLE who won nearly £2million on the lottery were holidaying in St Ives when they bought the winning ticket.
Dione and Richard Buss purchased the ticket at Tesco in Carbis Bay for the draw on Saturday September 28 while they were on their annual holiday in the town.
Their luck was in and the six numbers helped them scoop a jackpot of £1,888,630.
The couple from Bridgwater almost missed out the big money prize after they threw the ticket away, believing it was from an older draw.

A delighted Dione said: “Richard had put the ticket out for the recycling and to remind me to buy the next one. Fortunately I double checked it and realised we still had another draw to go.
“We actually found out we’d won on Sunday night but it was really late and we couldn’t speak to anyone from Camelot until 9am on the Monday. I didn’t sleep a wink that night, I didn’t even try – I watched the TV and did the ironing instead.”
Dione, 47, works for Bristol City Council and Richard, 48, took voluntary redundancy before setting up his own business renovating and restoring properties.
Following the win, the couple plan to buy their dream home and visit the Great Wall of China, as well as devoting more time to charitable causes.
The winning Loto numbers were 10, 12, 14, 25, 46 and 48.
