St Joseph's School has been named the top school in Cornwall for GCSE results, the Department of Education announced. The school has come top of the league table ahead of all other Cornish Independent and State Schools.

This result is even more pleasing as St Joseph's is non-selective.

This latest accolade follows on from being rated the third highest non-selective small independent school in England.

Head teacher Mrs Sue Rowe said: "We are incredibly proud of all our pupils who not only perform very well academically but also in the broader aspects of school life including sport and music.

"Our small class sizes, individual attention, high expectations from the teaching staff and a focus on pastoral care all contribute to a very positive and high quality learning environment."

St Joseph's attracts considerable interest for places as the school continues to produce impressive results.
