Stables' Olympic legacy under their feet
THE spirit of the Olympic Games has found a permanent home at a west Cornwall riding stables.
Tonnes of high-class surface used by Team GB's medal winning riders in the Paralympics and Olympic Games, has been laid at the Old Mill Stables, Lelant Downs.
Riding for the Disabled South West Group purchased the surface along with the stables, at a cost of approximately £10,000.
It is hoped the new equestrian material, installed with the help of Neil O'Connor, AP Paving and The Green Waste Company, will help provide a lasting legacy from the Games held in London this summer.

"Hopefully horses and volunteers will be benefiting for many years to come from the dust-free, low maintenance surface and riders will be inspired to be riding on the gold, silver and bronze medal-winners' hoof beats," said coordinator Nick Ridge.
Riding for the Disabled has been offering riding sessions for vulnerable people for nearly 40 years.
