Store brings fresh jobs hope
MORE jobs are being created in Bodmin with one of the South West's longest established independent building supplies companies, Tamar Trading, launching a recruitment campaign for its new town store.
The new jobs follow 40 recently created after Royal Mail Group's express parcels business, Parcelforce Worldwide, opened a new depot in Bodmin.
Tamar Trading has two other branches in Holsworthy and Torrington.
The opening of the new Tamar Trading branch will mean the creation of more than ten jobs in Bodmin at the Cooksland Industrial Estate, and an investment of close to £1 million in the development of the new store.

Company director Richard Stacey, said: "We're delighted to be investing in the Bodmin economy, and bringing a new branch over the Tamar into Cornwall. As an expanding independent business, we hope to recruit high calibre staff with good local knowledge for our new venture."
The Bodmin branch of Tamar Trading will open to the public and trade in early 2014.
The new 3,228 square metre Parcelforce depot in Callywith Gate has the capacity to hold up to 30 vehicles and handle up to 5,000 parcels a day.
It will enable Royal Mail Group's express parcels business to meet the growth in demand in the business- to-business, business-to- consumer and consumer-to-consumer parcels markets.
Peter Fuller, operations director for Parcelforce Worldwide, said: "We are delighted to be opening a new depot in Cornwall as part of our investment to grow our parcels business.
"The creation of 40 new jobs will enable to us handle more parcels while ensuring we continue to provide a very high level of service."
